New Featured Barre Class with Kelly

Based on the fundamental class format developed by barre originator Lotte Berk, this full body workout combines the best of classical ballet technique, Pilates and yoga. Using your own bodyweight as resistance, participants isolate and work the muscles of their upper body, thighs and abdominals to the point of fatigue then stretch them to achieve a long, lean physique. The featured seat work is "clamshell", so named for it's resemblance to a clam opening and closing its shell--no easy task! Intended to target the gluteus medius and maximus, clamshell is the perfect exercise for sculpting the seat while being gentle on joints.
What you will need:
A ballet barre, sturdy chair or countertop
A set of light hand weights (we prefer 1, 2, or 3 lbs)
A rolled-up towel, pillow, or some support for your low back.
A playground ball
